Hair Loss Health Risks

To be sure, hair loss can cause some psychological distress to some individuals.  However, there are some men who are finding that hair loss may actually pose real health risks in general terms.  It is generally caused by inherited androgenic alopecia, and if it’s not, you already know what your problem is in most cases and you have another medical condition or perhaps just a vitamin deficiency to deal with.

However, it happens when testosterone is converted into DHT at too high a rate and it results in hair naturally falling out.  However, because of the higher DHT levels and other factors in general, many have found that unfortunately it also puts men at a higher risk of heart and prostate health problems.  Studies have shown that they have an increased risk specifically of coronary artery disease and prostate cancer.  The results of a study published in the Archives of Internal Medicine in 2000 show that those with male pattern baldness had 3 times the risk of heart attack as compared to those who did not experience hair loss.  So if you have hair loss problems, it is obviously worth it to check into other areas of your health and otherwise keep up on your appointments in general.
